FAQs
What are your qualifications?
I am a certified Infant and Child Sleep Consultant with a background in Early Childhood as a teacher and childcare manager. With over a decade of experience in the early years industry, I combine my knowledge of early years development and sleep along with my passion for working with families and offering support.
What types of settling techniques are used?
I will consider your parenting style as well as your child’s temperament. What works for one family, may not work for another. Some children prefer a hands-off approach, whereas others need a gradual hands-on approach.
What is the responsive sleep co’s approach?
I believe in working holistically with each family. My sleep plans are individually written to consider each family’s unique circumstances and parenting style. At the start of your journey to better sleep, I will ask you fill in a comprehensive questionnaire detailing your current sleep issues, sleep environment, feeding, settling techniques you are using, your goals and your family’s lifestyle. Once the form is received by me, we will schedule a one hour phone consult. We will go through your answers in detail and ensure that all the information we need is gathered before we go ahead with your sleep plan. Once we are ready to move forward, you will receive your sleep plan and support from me over a one or two week period to implement the recommended changes.
How quickly will I see results and what if it doesn’t work?
This will depend on the settling technique chosen, your baby’s temperament, development and age. We usually see results after one or two weeks.
The process will require commitment and consistency from you to see changes. That is the beauty of the follow-up support. I will be there to be your cheerleader and help you should you run into problems or just need a sounding board.
What happens if my baby gets sick during support?
If your baby becomes unwell throughout the support time, we will pause and resume when bub is feeling back to themselves. It is my belief that ‘rules’ go out the window with a sick baby and you do whatever you can to comfort them.
Do I need to stay home during support?
I don’t believe you need to put your lifestyle on a complete hold, as I will take that into account when working with you. However, it is advised that you commit fully to the time we are working together to see best results. I don’t recommend any domestic or international travel throughout our support.
How much support should I expect from you?
Depending on the package you have chosen, support will vary. Both packages will receive daily support via WhatsApp for the selected period of time.
How do I know which package to choose?
If you are experiencing minor issues and just need a little tweak here and there to routines etc., the one week support package would suffice. The two week package is what I would recommend for families who are experiencing more complex issues. You have more time and access to support from me over the two week period.
How do I know if you are the right fit for me?
I’ve been there! I am a mum to two small children. I understand that each child is different, and things might not go to plan. And that’s okay! If the nap falls apart, I can give you some advice on what to do instead. I am a firm believer that sleep is not a one size fits all. I will give you some realistic expectations to strive towards as we work together.
"Even after two nights, I have noticed an improvement in my mental health and our relationship! You are more than just a sleep consultant!"
